Carl “Gordon” Eggebrecht was born on March 26, 1925 to the late Carl and Esther (Oswald) Eggebrecht in Minneapolis, MN. He died August 4, 2005. Gordon graduated from Wausau High School in 1943 and served in the United States Marine Corp in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After the war he attended the University of Denver and graduated in 1950. He married Shirley Weinke, his wife of 52 years, on November 18, 1950. They were blessed with six children. Gordy, as his friends called him, played semi -pro football for the Wausau Muskies and was a territorial manager for General Mills for 36 years. He was an active member of the American Legion Montgomery Post Plant # 10 in Wausau for 47 years. He especially enjoyed family times at the cabin on Clear Lake in Manitowish Waters. When at the cabin, the family attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder Junction.
