Member of Winegar American Legion Post 480, Presque Isle, WI. Injured in plane crash in USA. While in Korea, George suffered from extreme cold, inadequate clothing and rations. He told his family that he remembers Christmas Day eating frozen sandwiches and saw many of them strewed about uneaten. Shortly before his planned return home, President Truman extended his deployment in Korea.
