I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1955 at the age of 23, recently married, I was drafted. I served for two years in the US Army, at the AAA Missile Battalion #483 Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. I was the senior supply clerk, achieving the rank of Specialist 3rd Class Technician. At battalion headquarters, I was responsible for keeping inventory records and maintaining and organizing files. I received my Honorable Discharge in 1963 after completing my Army Reserve obligation.
