Bill and his brother Bob spent as much time as possible on Annabelle Lake in Presque Isle, Wisconsin from childhood until their deaths. He was hoping to be a career Navy Pilot;  while serving in Kodiak, Alaska, the plane he was on was lost over the Bering Sea. There is no further information, and nothing was ever resolved. He loved flying, Presque Isle and Annabelle Lake.
