Carl William Sievert was called to service in 1944 and enlisted at age 20 in the US Air Force. During his training to become a pilot, World War II was coming to an end, so he was transitioned to the military police. Following the war Carl graduated from Purdue University as an electrical engineer.
He joined his father and brothers to own and operate Sievert Electric Company, one of the largest of its kind in Illinois. Carl developed the construction division and was responsible for wiring many of the high-rise buildings along the Chicago Lake Front, including the Presidential Towers.
He and his wife Winnie raised six children and are retired in Presque Isle, Wisconsin on Oxbow Lake.
