Chick and his wife Donna raised three children, Lee, Charlene and Chuck. Chick lived in Presque Isle his entire life, working and operating a fuel station. He was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as being skilled in mechanical operations. While serving in WW II, he was sent to many places to solve mechanical problems that no one else could.

Summary of his Military Occupation: Supervised the repair and maintenance of all vehicles of Battalion Motor Pool in the ETO. Supervised the duties of twenty-nine drivers and five mechanics. Did major overhaul work and made minor repairs. Checked all vehicles for general serviceability and kept them in good condition.
