Bill Joseph Neal was born on February 16th, 1916 in Milwaukee, WI to Felix and Mary Niedzialkowski. After his father died, Bill left school at the age of 12 to work and support the family since he was the oldest. Before joining the Army he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Northern WI. He joined the Army Air Corps as an Airplane Mechanic and lost part of his hearing because of his service. After the military, he worked at Blatz and then Pabst Brewery. He married Bernadine (Bunny) Gryske in 1950 and together they raised 4 children. After his retirement, he spent his days reading, playing cards and cribbage and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an extraordinary “ordinary guy” who worked hard and took care of his family.
Deceased December 5, 2001. Interred St. Adalbert Cemetery, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
