Mr. Blodgett was born August 20, 1942, in San Francisco, California and was married to Sandra Kay Plunkett on August 29, 1972. Fred first served in the United States Air Force as a Disbursement Accounting Supervisor, retiring as a Master Sergeant after over 20 years. He served in Air Force bases in England, Crete, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay Newfoundland and Labrador. After marrying Sandy, they worked together at Air Force bases in Texas and Ohio, and at the NATO base in Ismir, Turkey. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as a youth group supervisor for Arrowhead Ranch for 26 years, retiring in 2004.
He enjoyed cooking, entertaining and hosting friends with his wife, being Sandy’s “Sous Chef”, and was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his wife both at home and camping or traveling around the world.
Deceased April 26, 2010, Interred in Rock Island National Cemetery where Moline American Legion Post 246 presented military honors.
