Born in Ironwood Michigan on August 27, 1920, Charlie attended L.L. Wright High School and graduated in 1938. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) at Camp Gogebic. Marenisco Mi. In 1942 he joined the United States Army and was attached to the HQ BTRY 491st AAA. He came ashore in Normandy France nine days after D-Day and saw combat in Northern France and Central Europe.
After receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1945, Charlie moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin and worked at Pabst Brewery until retirement.
Charlie enjoyed traveling and often joined brothers John and Joe for many family vacations in Presque Isle and Ironwood.
